Acknowledging that our whole lives are an act of worship, Sundays at 10am is our time to gather together as a Christian family. The service goes for around 75-90 minutes. This includes singing, praying, reading the Bible, and hearing a gospel message. It is a time to refresh our minds and souls and encourage each other in Jesus Christ.
Singing
We enjoy praising and worshiping God with a healthy mix of traditional hymns and a selection of contemporary songs.
Sermon
We believe in the divine inspiration and authority of God's Word. We are convinced that when the Word is revealed it changes people's lives for the better. So naturally, we ensure that everything else that happens on Sunday revolves around the reading and preaching of God's Word found in the Bible.
Prayer
We love to pray at Darwin Presbyterian Church. Prayer is two way communication with God. We worship, praise and glorify him, present him with requests and he in turn edifies his people, building them up sustaining them with the presence of the Holy Spirit. We pray for our world, our nation, our city and individuals around us.
The Lord's Supper
We share in the Lord's supper, also called Communion, on the first Sunday of every month. On the night that Jesus was betrayed, He instructed His followers to share bread and wine in memory of the sacrifice He was about to make. At DPC we use grape juice and gluten free crackers as we remember the work Jesus did to rescue us from our sin and give us new life in Him. We invite anyone who trusts Jesus to share with us, including children.
Kids in Church
Kids are a part of our church family and we enjoy having them in our service for the duration. We understand that sometimes kids need a bit of extra space. We have a side room and some toys available for those who want to use them.
We often have 'kids spots' during our services which can help children to engage with God’s word and the truths we find within it.
Morning Tea / Lunch
After our service most weeks we share in tea and coffee and a small morning tea. However on the first Sunday of each month we share a potluck style lunch. We also have a cake on the last day of each month to celebrate that months birthdays.
